Description:
Learning Outcomes: This 10-week course teaches cooking skills and simple mindfulness techniques to help improve mental wellbeing, plus build positive connections with others. Through easy, sensory-friendly recipes and guided activities, we will help you build confidence in the kitchen, reduce stress, and discover the joy of sharing food with others. Some support will be available for those new to adult learning who lack confidence within social spaces.
By the end of the course, learners will be able to:
" Research and create your own chart of beneficial versus harmful ingredients.
" Create an energy boosting dish.
" Research and create your own mental health diet using a food journal.
" Build social communication skills such as recognising the difference between assertive, aggressive and passive tones.
" Make a selection of dips to experiment with different textures of food such as dry breadsticks, crunchy carrots and stringy celery.
" Share coping strategies to deal with difficult situations. Have group discussions and share results.
" Identify foods that create good chemicals in your brain and create a dish.
