Description:

This is a course for those learners who have sensory, physical or cognitive impairments, including neuro-divergent learners. A pre course interview is required.

This 20-week cookery course is designed for learners who enjoy learning in a calm and welcoming environment. You'll build practical cooking skills and explore ways to communicate and connect with others in everyday life.

You'll be part of a group where different ways of thinking are valued. Through hands-on cooking and relaxed group chats, you'll learn how working together and sharing ideas can help build confidence and teamwork-both in and out of the kitchen.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the course, learners will be able to:
Recognise the value of collaboration and mutual support.
Demonstrate kindness and patience in group settings.
Apply active listening techniques to ensure inclusive communication.
Use eye contact and non-verbal cues appropriately and comfortably.
Identify shared interests as a foundation for trust and connection.
Incorporate humour to foster positive group dynamics.
Cook pasta correctly and safely to make lasagna.
Make hot chocolate and snacks and talk in a group.
Bake a sausage roll using puff pastry.
Decorate some cupcakes for a festive season.
Make an easy one pot dish.
