Learn the principal methods of preparation and cooking to make basic dishes for you to take home for you and your family.
You will also learn the importance of kitchen safety and hygiene.
By the end of the course, you will be able to:
Know the principal methods of cooking.
Be able to prepare and cook dishes.
Understand how to plan and cost nutritionally balanced meals.
Use a variety of food preparation methods.
Use fresh ingredients and convenience foods.
Use and maintain a range of kitchen equipment.
Understand the importance of health and safety in the kitchen.

Three units - Open Awards L1 in Food Preparation and Cookery Skills, Kitchen Equipment and Using Cooking Skills in the Kitchen
