This Introduction to Community Interpreting course is a great opportunity to see what community interpreting is about. It is for learners who are interested in working with different linguistic groups in the community and have an interest in learning about the role of a community interpreter. This course will give you an insight into what the role of the community interpreter involves and to see if community interpreting is right for you. We will look at communication skills and language, the importance of teamwork and expectations of a community interpreter. It will provide you with a hearty taster of what to expect on the accredited level 1 and 2 pathways. You will also be required to complete a written assessment to assess suitability for the level 1 and level 2 accredited pathways.
