Description:
This is a course for those learners who have sensory, physical or cognitive impairments, described as neuro-divergent or with mental health conditions. A pre course interview is required, please ring us on 0161 253 5772 to arrange this.
This course is for 30 weeks. Within that time you will meet the following learning outcomes:
Recognise ways that green spaces improve well-being.
List ways you could personally improve the environment.
List strengths and weaknesses of self.
Match strengths and weaknesses to a volunteering opportunity within the community.
Increase self-esteem.
Identify ways social media can affect attitudes.
Describe the advantages and disadvantages of volunteering.
Note key Services who could support you in a volunteering role.
Know how to deal with confrontation.
Recognise benefits of a leisure activity in the community through the Bury Directory.
Recognise how to use the Bury VCFA website to choose a suitable volunteering opportunity.
Apply for a volunteering opportunity.
Work as a team on a volunteering project and note what went well and what if anything could be improved.
