This very relaxing course will develop your understanding of how to use art as a tool to support your wellbeing. Bringing therapeutic art into your life can help with negative thoughts, pain and defuse the stress which daily life can cause.
During this course you will learn a range of therapeutic art techniques, including creating zentangles, mandalas and zendalas. You will participate in a range of practical therapeutic art tasks. This course is suitable for anyone and no prior knowledge of art or drawing is necessary. The tasks used are similar to doodle art and so drawing skills, although beneficial are not vital for completing the course. Each session includes a relaxing meditation at the end.
By the end of the course, I will be able to:
Understand the how art can be beneficial for my health and wellbeing.
Explore my own self body state using watercolours to express how I am feeling at the time.
Understand what a Zentangle is and be able to create them using pen and ink
Understand what a Mandala is and be able to create them using paint, pens, colour
Understand what a Zendala is and be able create them using pen and ink and other materials
Understand how colours can make me feel
Understand and appreciate the benefits of doodle-art for calming the mind and aiding with sleep and be able to use basic and beginner level doodle-art techniques.
Develop techniques to better deal with stressful situations.
